Updated March 2009

Most people would succeeed in small things if they were not troubled by great ambitions.

Henry Wordsworth Longfellow

These pages have been written on the fly, sometimes with but more often without software aid. Knowing that Graeme has dyslexia is also accepting that these links, over 100 pages of content, will in part contain broken sentences, grammatical mistakes and other errors left largely unedited, regardless. Welcome to his world.

Whilst the academic purists might not agree with this approach, it gives a rare opportunity and insight as to how this disability is affecting Graeme. Knowing his diffculties is also knowing how he can come across and the misunderstandings his predicament can cause.

Some of the emails and letters in the content have been produced by speech recognition software. Given that Graeme's dyslexia has impaired his short-term memory, the stream of consciousness is broken in places rendering the corresponding text hard to follow and consequently edited purely to improve structure and readability.

In doing so the editor has attempted, in consultation with Graeme, to convey the true sense of what Graeme was getting at, even though different from that he originally expressed or wrote there was never any attempt to misrepresent or deceive.

The length of the content, a compiled collection of emails and other documents, can only show the efforts to which Graeme went to resolve the issues he has with CYF. Considering Graeme's correspondence and that elicited from CYF, one can only conclude that Graeme has done all he could.

CYF has been forewarned of this site's publication and thus had and still have the opportunity to address any issues they may have with this document.

If you want to know more about his dyslexia, read the section on How Dyslexia Affects Me.

Equally if you have any ideas or access to sources that could help Graeme and others, i.e software, learning tools and other aids etc, not mentioned in the links of this document, please let him know via email.

Nothing is politically right which is morally wrong.

Daniel O'Connell

Graeme will publicise, unedited and unabridged, any further correspondence to and from CYF.

Where the webmaster has assisted Graeme in clarifying statements and issues, a clear indiction of that assistance is given.
